Health Office
The health office is designed to promote the health and wellness of each student. Students who become ill or sustain an injury in school or require the administration of medication prescribed by their doctor or our school physician standing orders.
If your child is not feeling well, they should remain home until they feel better or if they are running a fever over 100.5, they should be 24 hours fever free without the use of anti-fever medication such as Ibuprofen or Tylenol. If your child is experiencing GI symptoms such as nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, they should remain home until they are not experiencing these symptoms and they are able to eat without discomfort or exacerbation of the symptoms.
In addition, the school nurse will provide health screenings for your child as noted below:
Health Screenings
Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:16-2.2 (I) each district board of education shall ensure that students receive health screenings. Screening for height, weight and blood pressure shall be conducted annually for each student in kindergarten through grade 12.
Screening for visual acuity shall be conducted biennially for students in kindergarten through grade 10.
Screening for auditory acuity shall be conducted annually for students in kindergarten through grade three and in grades seven and 11.
Screening for scoliosis shall be conducted biennially for students between 10 and 18. The school district shall notify the parent of any student suspected of deviation from the recommended standard.
